Growing up I was always into cop shows like; COPS, Law&Order, Criminal Minds, etc. watching those shows I always knew that when I got older I would want to be someone who caught the bad guys. But the older I got, I learned that the field of law was so much more than being a police officer, or a detective. When I got to High School I took a Civics class and learned about the Amendments the different Laws that we have and the different cases that put these laws into place. After taking this class I knew that I wanted to be a lawyer because I had so much interest in the topic, and that's how I decided I wanted to be a Criminal Justice Major on the Pre-Law track.
When I first signed up for this class, it was because I needed to take a class for credit hours. And I thought to myself I am a Criminal Justice major, I know nothing about journalism. But Once we got into the class and got into the lecture I realized that this can actually be a beneficial class for me because of the career that I want to go into. I believe that this class will really help me with my writing in so many different ways while I am preparing to go to law school. I also think that it will be a refresher for certain terms that I will also see a lot as a law student such as; Habeas Corpus, Incitement, Criminal Action, Civil Action, etc. This is my first time taking a journalism class so I'm not really sure what is to come, but I am excited to find out.
